Honda Insight is a hybrid electric car from Honda. The first car in this series were released in the year 2000. And the production of the first series of Honda Insight cars continued till 2006. These cars were with three doors and did look awesome. The interiors were also not bad.

The second series cars of Honda Insight which are also known as the second generation Insight from Honda were released in Japan at first and it was in the early 2009. This is because Japan is the home nation of Honda. But, these cars were released in US in April 2009. These cars are priced at just 19,950 USD. And thus this is gonna be the cheapest hybrid car in the US. Unlike the first generation Insight, these cars are with 5 doors which makes it look far more sexy than any other car. It looks much better than many of the luxury cars that are priced much higher than Insight.

Honda Insight

The first generation Insight was the first car from Honda to use the Integrated Motor Assist system of Honda. It is good car when considering it’s aerodynamic performance. Thus it is a fuel efficient car. But the sales of these cars were not that good. It might be due to the reason that Honda were planning to release just a few of the units and create demand for hybrid cars among the mass. Anyways, the sales of these cars were just around 18,000. Honda made these cars fuel effiecient by using plastic and alluminium for making the different parts of the car. For example, the fuel tank that you would find in these cars would be made of plastic.

It was in September 2008, when Honda released the second generation Insight cars to the public. And as mentioned earlier, these are with 5 doors and looks really awesome. Honda’s plans are to sell around 200,000 units worldwide. So, everyone is getting a chance to own thisaffordable car.
